2023-2024 Season

March, 2024, Mahler Symphony No. 1

Our 2023-2024 Season presents an incredible collection of collaborations (with the Canadian Brass, University Chorus), guest soloists (including the Grammy-winning sextet eighth blackbird), and performances of works by Verdi, Shostakovich, Cuong, Mahler, and others.

All EUSO Concerts are held in the Schwartz Center, Emerson Concert Hall, and feature free admission and parking.

Saturday, October 28, 2023 8pm
The EUSO will perform Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances as well as Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with Elena Cholakova, Piano, and Michael Tiscione, Trumpet.

Saturday, November 18, 2023 8pm
Aritro Ray, Winner of the 2023 Emory Concerto & Aria Competition, will perform Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with the EUSO in this shared performance also featuring the EWE.

Thursday, March 7, 2024 8pm
The EUSO will perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 and premiere composer Viet Cuong’s Vital Sines for orchestra and featuring Grammy-Award Winning sextet, eighth blackbird (sponsored by the Schwartz Artist in Residence Program).

Friday April 26 & Saturday April 27, 2024 8PM
The EUSO and University Chorus join forces to present Verdi’s Requiem. The EUSO will also premiere a new orchestral work by Johanny Navarro, the winner of the EUSO’s “Call for Compositions” featuring BIPOC/female-identifying composers. Sponsored by the Schwartz Artist-in-Residence program.
